When I was a child, I was absolutely terrified of the night and the inevitably of darkness. If you turned off my nightlight by accident, I would literally rip your ear off.
Ironically, as an “adult,” I welcome the night. I would go insofar as to say I actually look forward to the evening hours. If my younger self could see me now, he’d probably rip my ear off.
